Vocational training as a certified precision mechanic at the Carl Zeiss in Göttingen. Afterwards, studies in business administration at the University of Applied Sciences in Kiel with the major fields financing and accounting, fiscal law and corporate management. Diploma in business administration (FH) obtained.

In 1990, Dirk Wiesinger started working at the Laser Zentrum Hannover e. V. (LZH). Since 1991, he is Head of the Administration Department.
