Benedikt Schuhbauer of the Ultrafast Photonics group took 1st place in the “Fiber Lasers Best Student Oral Paper Competition” of the Photonics West. He received the prize for the presentation of his paper Power scaling in Thulium-doped fiber Mamyshev oscillators at the “Fiber Lasers: Technology and Systems” conference. The prize is endowed with 1,000 dollars. The committee judged his presentation based on scientific content, impact, and clarity.
