Laura Budde received the award for the best presentation at the LANE Conference 2024 in Fürth. More than 300 conference participants voted her into a shared first place with Lars Vanmunster (KU Leuven, Belgium, on the topic: ‘Exploration of sychronised dual-deam laser melting with high speed video imaging’). The General Chair of LANE 2024, Prof. Dr. Michael Schmidt (pictured left), presented the prize to the LZH scientist.
The topic of her presentation was ‘Investigation of laser wire bonding for the fabrication of tensegrity structures’. The award also includes participation in the plenary session at LANE 2026.
At LANE, photonic technologies and innovations were presented with a focus on a user-orientated perspective. The LZH scientists presented their work, from additive manufacturing with metals to laser-based material processing under water, in numerous presentations.
