In the frame of the Eurostars Project LaWocs the laser transmission welding was applied to join glass fibre fabric reinforced polyethermide. In order to determine the limits laser welding and the characteristics of the weld seams different mechanical test were performed as described in the presented investigations. Furthermore, the results of the tests with the laser welded specimens were compared to test with adhesive bonded pediments as a bench mark.
