Practical and forward-looking: research results from our innovation fields
At this year's world's leading photonics trade fair, the LZH will present current research results from its eight new innovation fields: from approaches for integrated and miniaturized optics to lasers with special specifications for industry or for use in space – up to the use of lasers with artificial intelligence for agriculture, to name just a few examples.
In the field of additive manufacturing, the LZH will be showing components made of natural fibers, glass, and special materials such as magnesium and titanium, and will be presenting particularly large components manufactured using laser deposition welding.
Systems for individual challenges
The independent research institute also demonstrates its expertise in the construction of systems and supplementary system technology specifically tailored to customers’ individual requirements. For example, with the systems, additive and subtractive manufacturing can be realized without re-clamping the components. Furthermore, they present a system for additive manufacturing in a low-oxygen environment.
Safe explosive ordnance clearance underwater
At the stand, visitors can also see how explosive ordnance can be defused more safely underwater in the future. Further topics include laser-structured sensors and high-resolution broadband monitoring for coating processes.
