To illustrate this, the LZH brought together the project’s various components in an exhibit in the form of a Moon. The Moon model is additively manufactured at LZH using 3D printing, just like the miniature Moon rover standing on top of it.
sing the exhibit, the project team was able to explain the central motivation of the MOONRISE project to interested trade fair visitors: How can additive manufacturing of lunar infrastructure with regolith reduce space transport efforts?
The Moon model proved to be an absolute eye-catcher and starting point for conversations, not only at the Hannover Messe in April 2023. However, the trade shows were not only an opportunity to bring the benefits of space technologies to a broad audience: The project team was also able to make many new contacts for possible future collaborations. The MOONRISE exhibit was also present at LASER World of PHOTONICS, the world's leading trade fair for the photonics industry in Munich.
